How to Measure for Your Custom Wetsuit
Don’t worry if you’re not a professional tailor — you’ve got this.
With a soft measuring tape, a friend to help, and this guide, you’ll be ready to submit precise measurements for the perfect custom fit.
Getting Started
For the person being measured:
- Wear a swimsuit (preferably what you’d wear while diving).
- Stand up straight with feet slightly apart.
- Keep your head level and face forward — do not look down during measurement.
- Breathe in and hold your breath when measuring bust, chest, waist, and stomach.
- If you wear dive booties under the wetsuit, wear them during measurement.
For the person taking the measurements:
- Use a soft (not metal) measuring tape, pencil, and printed chart.
- Arm and leg measurements should be taken on the dominant side.
- The tape should be snug but not tight.
- Mark key points on the body using chalk, tape, or marker for accuracy.
- To mark the crotch point, ask the person to place a magazine between their legs, then place a second one across it. Where they intersect is the crotch point.
- Always measure twice!
